Computer UpgradesWith technology constantly on the move & software becoming more and more demanding of processors & hard drives then perhaps its time to consider an upgrade. Whether it be a standard tower PC, a Laptop or Macintosh Computer then we can upgrade it for you. Hard DrivesOne of the most common reasons for upgrading your computer, is simply lack of space on your machine, with a surge in the market of affordable mp3 players, digital cameras and video recording equipment all requiring a chunk of precious hard hard drive space it becomes inevitable that eventually there will be no more left to share between these devices. Options for extra space are dependant on what kind of computer you wish to upgrade, if its a standard tower PC then you should have a spare drive bay within your computer to install a 2nd hard drive, if so then its worth considering (if your Motherboard will allow it) purchasing a SATA drive as opposed to the older technology Parallel ATA, giving you the extra benefit of an increase in speed. Macintosh towers also have additional space within them for internal drives, however what drive you choose is more dependant on what Mac you wish to upgrade, older machines will not have the ability to house SATA drives, while G5 machines use the SATA connection as standard. If its a Laptop you wish to upgrade then you won't have the ability to add an additional internal hard drive, you can however either purchase an external device to connect via your laptops fire wire or usb connection or replace your original hard drive with a bigger capacity one. RAMRam - Random Access Memory. Put basically the more RAM you have installed in your computer, the more programs and applications you will be able to open simultaneously. Software, when being accessed loads its data into RAM so the more you have installed, the more software you will be able to open. If you find your machine slowing down when being worked hard then its possible that your computer is running out of available RAM to cope with your applications. Upgrading isn't just a case of installing a chip & away you go, first will will need to know what type of ram is installed & compatible with your computer.
